I have gaps with 81, 86, 88 and 116 and a few ? against some others but I don't mind a few guesses ,its the gaps that bug me, still got a bit of time though, I won the Spring Journey quiz last year by a point , don't think that will happen this year, I enjoy the quiz though....c
Question Author
shall I give you 88. ?
VIEWING AREA ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH. but keep it to yourself, I e-mailed Lakenheath RAF and they helped
Thats great thanks very much, Just the other 3 to sort out...is that all you need now? If I come up with anything I'll let you know on this thread....c
Question Author
yes, just 81, 86, and 116. If you look at a map between two mile bottom and weeting, all there is, is elveden forest, but I cant fit that in. I've sent an e-mail to Matlock tourist information with 116 anagram, can but hope
Did you see on another posting where someone suggested Kilverstone but couldn't make it fit the clues, its not showing on my road atlas but if you google street map of Thetford, Kilverstone hall is there. Out of Kilverstone I can make EL , OVEN and RISK which fit the criteria but T is left over. But I do wonder if its there somewhere as it fits with the route...c
PS my computer is playing hit and miss games today so apologies if I don't get back to you..
Question Author
still receiving you, you can also get KILN and STOVE out of KILVERSTONE, but this still doesn't help!!!!!!
Hi burgess, am on holiday in Spain, just thought I,d check on AB and saw your posting..I,m still no nearer with that anagram although just before I came away I found Starkholmes among the letters...I dont think I will get this quiz completed will only have a few days left when I get back...hope you manage to get it done....c
Question Author
well done candled, I have 84 and 85, for 85. the in spanish is el, so I wonder if Elveden comes into it, just a clue to 116, is it in Matlock, is the word Matlock included?
Question Author
candled,
sorry if my posting seemed a bit obscure, I saw that an answer had been posted but I only went to the bottm of page one, so I realise now that you still dont have the anagram, still searching
Question Author
Hi Candled, have you managed to get the last few needed for Matlock, still need something for 81 and have 3 different suggestion for 86 ) Kilverstone, Snareshill and Elveden Forest, but none completely fit the clue)
I'm trying to finish another quiz which has GB place names as the answers. The two which seem to have everyone stumped are Q27. A type of government in the 18th century (11letters)
Q93. Not very brave. (8 letters)
any help appreciated
Alan
Hi burgess , back from hols now and trying to catch up. Managed to get on net a couple of times whilst away ,saw the clue for the cattery so have worked that out, thought it was going to be Starkholmes. So that leaves me with the same as you (and everybody else it seems !) including the 2 for the Whittington. Sorry can't be of any help , it's all going to be down to guesswork at the end I think.....c
Question Author
Hope you had a good holiday, I've sent both Matlock and Whittington quizzes in, with some guess work on a couple of answers, so its just keep fingers crossed, best of luck. Have just received a quiz from Margaret Marshall called Sh you dont say. She did one some time ago, of the 100 answers 4 x 25 are on a particular theme, usually connected to the quiz title
Thanks for that, I really need quizzes now with long time dates. , found the details on the fundraising quizzes site. I'm not the best at cryptics but I'll give it a go! Thats why I like the Matlock one , I tend to find a place and fit the clue to it.! I've been doing the Up in the Air quiz ( not to send in) so many answers have been given on AB , too many perhaps, but its given me some practice. Just going to start working on the Matlock mileage now. Good Luck to you....c
Hi burgess really enjoying this "Sh" quiz , got a bit hooked on it and I should be sorting my other quizzes out !! Done about 80 so far, I'm really pleased with myself. Going to put it away for a while now...decisions to be made with Matlock and Whittington.!...c
Question Author
Have posted Matlock and Whittington and trusted to luck. Seem to be inundated with quizzes at the moment, as well as Sh. ive got Iain Rennie and Macmillan "Move with the times" and Fiji is on the way. Have you tried Macmillan, its a really good quiz. You are doing much better than me on Sh, I can see that I will be coming for help sometime in the future. I've only done 56
I've done about half of the Macmillan quiz , haven't got the other 2 this time as I seem to have a few too many on the go at the moment and I didn't finish either of them last time I tried.....c
Question Author
so far have done 70 of Macmillan, we will have to do a swap at some stage
