I'm aware of the Tetley advert but I've a feeling the reference is to a much older advert .

It probably is Vesta (I had tried to wipe that horrible stuff from my mind)

Yes, I suspect it was Vesta Chow Mein. I can remember nearly breaking teeth on those odd hard bits that never seemed to cook :-)

I seem to remember their paella consisted of cardboard cubes which it was suggested were supposed to resemble chicken...............heaven only knows what the prawns were made of !
