Lucky Break - Issue 62 - p48 - Bike

Hi - Anyone got any ideas on the 2 answers on this one - I've found a ton of 5 letter words to fit the clues - but without really giving a clear answer!

There are 7 across clues, all answers are 5 letters, and the 2nd and 4th letter of each answer / column then reads down to give the final answers.

I can get the word - Railway - for the left hand answer / column - but it gives a nonsensical word for the right hand word!

1955 - I think Railway Sidings is more than likely, I just hadn't worked out the alternative 5 letter words where appropriate

If you replace Break with Crash, Blunt with Plain, and Swash with Swank..you will get SIDINGS.
