im a newdriver(6 months) and thats no excuse but i only noticed my car tax had expired on 30th september today .two days ago. thinking in panic mode i renewed online thinking i was covered instantly but my son in law tells me i can have my car taken away for not displaying a valid tax disc. .its too late now and ive nowhere to park off road.and also we have a parking scheme round our way where you have to have a permit to park. are you allowed any days grace when your tax runs out .im living on my nerves now expecting the worst to happen. any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you put this in Motoring instead of Quizzes and Puzzles. You might get a reasonable answer then.

Print off the confirmation email and display that as proof until you get your new disc. Also any official would check the DVLA database to see if tax renewed before getting the truck to tow you away.
