MM & KM Links October 2008 [Week 1]
39 Answers
Winter draws on (or winter drawers on)? Last week, my attempt to be provocative certainly worked. You all went "Cuckoo". I even had a phone call from a cuckoo with a Manchurian accent! Anyway, Mrs Crofter got home in one piece and enjoyed reading your many messages on AB. I always say that our relationship is psychological ~ I'm logical and she's psycho!
Our winner of last month's competition was ulysses100, named after King Ulysses of Ithaca, and he will be setting this month's link words. As things have worked out, I shall be launching the MM Links Game on AnswerBank tomorrow at 8.45am on his behalf with his four chosen words to be linked being declared at 9.00am. More details tomorrow morning!
We also run an international version of this same game (called KM Links) where the words to be linked are determined by the DT's Herculis Crossword. That usually kicks off some time after 06.30am! Here the score master is seekeerz from the Land of Oz. Why not try your hand at BOTH games? These competitions are open to everyone and ongoing until well into Sunday.
Once again, this being the first Friday in the month, it is Quiz Night at my local Cricket Club and tonight I am a humble punter! The clock is coming up to 19.00, so I'd better get this posted for the ramblings of the Shrubbery Squad to begin!
As for me, I am crofter, Keeper of the Rule Book and Sacred Abacus.
Happy Linking!

I can't believe you are all in hiding from the "credit crunch" so I prefer you are all out getting sozzled to dull the pain of the decrease in the value of your house.

Strix I think perhaps that's the problem. We are all being very careful and not using our computers so much!!!

You should really have given in to that temptation.
I'm sure an elephant would fit nicely into your back room.
Yes, a carrot museum is puzzling.....it is difficult to think that there could be enough to know about carrots to have a museum about them...or enough rude looking ones to fill a museum. Someone will have to be sent to Belgium with instructions to report back.

Very good, evsajo, but I think you may have cornered the market in rude carrots....what would they do with all the rest of the rooms ?
A potato musem.....not much scope for rude potatoes, although there are books on potatoes...I know because Lordalex has one.....
A swede museum now, that would be something to look forward to...or remember fondly.

There is a museum of tanks somewhere in Scotland.
Not army tanks, water tanks.
Again difficult to believe that there coudl be enough to know about water tanks, but who am I to judge. I once visited a dried fruit museum in Spain, or possibly Portugal. Such was the excitement of the jaunt that I forgot which country I was in. My but we lived it up then.

Pauline is home but I think it's a bit late for her. Ladyalex, you must have found it difficult to contain your enthusiasm..........a dried fruit museum.......how wonderful and then a water tank museum.
Tomorrow I am going to try and find the most unusual museum and....................wait for it................will tell you what it is next week.
Now my cough and I are calling it a day. Goodnight everyone, see you in the morning
