Could you help with the final two clues, please.
Wrote furiously, penning script for play with small cast
(3-6ltrs)t-- -a-d-r We want to put "two hander" but cannot see why!
Article supporting good old English writer (6ltrs) -(o)-t-e If the above is correct then the second letter is "o"!!

Two-hander is a term for a play or movie with only two main characters...a small cast
That's G=good Old English THE article.

Many thanks to you all for your prompt answers. I had thought of Goethe but was confused by the English writer bit in the clue. My question wasn't even shown on my screen until I had refreshed!!!
