MM Links Solutions October 2008 [Week 2]

I spite of all attempts to reverse the trend, this second week in the reign of King Ulysses the Valiant was virtually a repeat of the first week in terms of meagre points scored. Perhaps you will see why as I reveal the chosen links based on the theme of Finches :

PAPAL Bull
Green GODDESS
Gold STANDARD
Rose WATER

I know of one regular entrant who will be kicking herself for missing "Papal Bull". Also (for the sake of newcomers) the words to be linked may well be types of finches, but that's where association with finches ends!

Once again, it was early bird Christiana who returned to winning ways with PAPAL BULL to claim TWO POINTS. One minute later, beejay1124 entered the fray with GREEN GODDESS to claim the second hit and TWO more POINTS.

Just one minute later came our very own seekeerz, very concerned with the GOLD STANDARD and picked up TWO POINTS once again. This is becoming a regular event from our �Queen of Oz�. Scoring dried up over the 18 contestants until 15.32 when BigMac chanced his arm with ROSE WATER for TWO POINTS.

Only one person managed to string two hits together during the whole contest and that was twix123 to score two single points. In view of this achievement, I nominate twix123 as HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK.

We now have had two weeks skinny on points. Still on the plus side, next week, there will be everything to play for ~ when King Ulysses may well have settled in and things might progress along natural lines. Thank you Ulysses, I actually managed to hit your wavelength this week, and thanks to Crofter who finally had to move the beads on his abacus on my behalf. I don't expect that it will last.

I am not able yet to be on broadband, nor to gain access to any sites via AOL. A computer engineer has got me onto a dial-up provider so that I can now get on-line.
Congratulations to the point scorers. I am sorry that there are so few points being awarded -- it is not my deliberate intention (except for the devious papal bull, which went almost immediately with Christiana).
I hope that there will be further winners next weekend.
