What she is trying to say is that the second word means 'a castrated chicken'

The first word is in East Anglia

many thanks gen2,i found that post but still no help as the answer wasn't there.I can only assume the second word is capon but after googling i can't find anything for the first word.Thanks for your help tho -x-

Well I found it from that clue so am sure you can

Especially seeing as there is 2 months to go and someone on another thread is getting unkind comments because they are asking for answers to another quiz that doesnt close till then

There should be one saying who can do what but it still happens but not to everyone and thats what makes it unfair - moan over

I think thats a bit uncalled for,whats the point of asking for help on here when you get an answer 'look for yourself' the whole idea of coming here is because you need help with something you can't do or find for yourself.I never send my quizzes in anyway,i do them for fun,but the money i pay for them goes to a good cause and thats all im interested in.

Lots of people only want clues and are then happy to stick at it till they find it

I was searching on google and it showed an old thread on here. I came on here and looked and then spent a considerable time till I found the answer

If you use inverted commas on google and try capon and red herring you will find it

And my moan was aimed at those who just pick on some quizzes and say it is too early to ask (look at the cinnamon dingbats thread from today) and then dont with others so sorry I wasnt getting at you

If you really cant find it after googling as I suggest ,and someone else did earlier this week with just that clue, then I'll tell you later or am sure someone else will

smouse i see what you mean about the cinnamon dingbats now..........as for red herring i did as you said and found the answer,never heard of using inverted commas,but it certainly worked,i had spent days looking for that one as well ! So many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.As i said previously,i only do them for fun im not in it to win anything,but i get satisfaction that my money has gone to a good cause while learning at the same time........happy quizzing -x-
