Thanks for your reply - these do seem to fit the clues but
I thought that all the pubs were supposed to be in Lincolnshire and I couldn't find these pubs there!!!

For No. 38 I have Etherington Arms. (ether (liquid), ton {heavy weight}, arms (guns). Hope this helps.

I still cannot decide between The Oak Tree, The Lincoln Green and The Sherwood Forrester, now you have thrown another one into the equation with The Major Oak oh dear lol. I changed The Maple Leaf to The Beehive but still am undecided on that one. Eiggam, the pubs do not have to be in Lincolnshire. (I rang Mr Lyall to ask) Good Luck
