Clueless chairman = Humph(rey) Lyttleton, chairman of I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue and often known as Humph.

Humph = annoyed interjection
As you said what a brilliant clue and what a hole he has left!
I reckon that was lost on me - but as you say a good clue.
Very average clue in my opinion, I got the reference immediately - Are you just impressed because you feel superior listening to radio 4 ?
good clue. I suppose GetOverIt is one of those people who can finish a crossword while their egg boils, but I sure can't.
