MM & KM Links Nov 2008 [Week 2]

And a famine (of points) fell across LinkLand as the AB-linkers were Strixen by a terrible plague! It was not intentional, but I think that Sir Strix is such a complex individual that it's going to take all of five weeks to "plumb his depths"! One good point is that not many entrants scored last week, so catching up should be relatively easy. Truth to tell, Strix has promised to try to be a little less devious, but as the saying goes "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions"! Only time will tell.

The weather forecast tonight suggests that it will be frosty and very damp for the Shrubbery Squad, when they will need to be sharp at 09.00 tomorrow morning. That's the time when the new MM Link Game will be launched by Sir Strix, when he sets his second set of four words to be linked by fair means or foul! It never ceases to amaze me just how many entries surge in within the first five minutes of the game ~ you are all so competitive!

Even more amazing is the level of activity when the sister game (called KM Links) kicks off. The starting time is not as precise but usually begins before 07.00! I am in admiration of the dedication of the early contestants! Look out for gen2, who will be standing in for seekeerz (from the Land of Oz) and will look after the scores on the doors in a parallel universe over the month of November.

Me? I�m crofter keeper of the scores for MM Links for my sins and tonight is Quiz Night at the local Cricket Club! Once again, I shall be a humble punter and together with Mrs Crofter (aka Valerie) we shall take on the competition under the banner of �The Crofters� (of course).

Good luck for tomorrow, when you will have to tune into another round when challenging Sir Strix in order to establish a convincing lead for the month of November.

Some years ago, jan, one of my 'kind" friends said I looked like P.M.'s Spitting Image dummy. So kind! Actually there is no way I could look like him now without his "soft", as they call it, face lift and the hair dye!
