And during the third week in the reign of Sir Strix the Bountiful, the famine that had strixen AB-land was deemed to be over and the land flowed with milk and honey! With Round Three of the competition dwelling on his association with "Old Briny", I can now reveal that his chosen links based on the theme of Matters Maritime were:
ULTRA Marine
DAISY Cutter
GRAVY Boat
PADDLE Steamer
At last, the Sacred Abacus needed to go into overdrive!

Entrant #1 was Dinkypuzzled came aboard his PADDLE STEAMER for the opening TWO POINTS. Next came the formidable gen2 with the same Paddle Steamer and the new DAISY CUTTER to register the first FOUR POINTS of the round!
Not to be outdone, the big hitter Christiana followed close behind bowling the same Daisy Cutter and launching the new ULTRA MARINE for another FOUR POINTS in an exceptional opening. Yet another scoring Four Points for Two Early hits was fordward ~ and with three hits now viable, there were four other early entrants who scored Two Points for various single hits within the required two minutes spell.
However, at 09.03am, the heroic ulysses100 proved that Strix had been well and truly tamed by correctly predicting all three of the previous hits to score SIX POINTS and take the title of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK. Once again, a previous MM-Links Champion takes the honours to demonstrate that there must be an element of skill in this crazy game.
*** Crowds cheer wildly at this awesome feat ***
*** Let drums roll and trumpets sound ***
In the following minute, cliffyg (youve heard that name before) bowled yet another Daisy Cutter and dipped his bread in the GRAVY BOAT for another FOUR POINTS and claiming the last hit. The remainder of the game coasted to a gentle conclusion with single points falling to the lucky few and a double hit registered by devadiva. Well done to you all!

The League Table after this third week is looking MUCH healthier:
TEN POINTS: <ulysses100
EIGHT POINTS: <Christiana
SIX POINTS: <cliffyg & gen2
FOUR POINTS: <Dinkypuzzled, fordward & wickedtongue
THREE POINTS: Eiggam
Nine others are on Two Points and eight are on One Point.

Until next weekend, this is crofter signing off for another week.
The Sacred Abacus is cooling off in a basin of salty water!

Hot shot twice in three weeks !!!! Amazing !!! I must say that Strix and I are not colluding -- I must just be attuned to his particular wavelength ! We will now have to wait and see until next weekend's words. crofter, your abacus must be smoking indeed. I hope that the scorch marks have faded somewhat by next week. Well done to all of the other scorers : I am in some good company........
SALTY WATER !!!! crofter?
That is just asking for corrosion to set in and all the beads will seize up. Are you predicting 'Nul Points' again next week?
I hope not.
Thank you crofter and well done ulysses
