KM Links Game - November week 3 Results

Good morning players. I will kick of with a couple of announcements if I may.
1) I will NOT be setting my alarm for any earlier than 6:00 am for the rest of this month. That means that my posts should appear about 6:10 am.
2) No entries to the game will be accepted after midnight on Sundays. (UK Time)
N.B.
What seekeerz decides to do next month is entirely up to her, and may be influenced by what you, the players, think.
These statements have been declared because of the fact that the Saturday GK crossword and the Monday Herculis crossword are now available online to subscribers to the DT Crossword Society from midnight on Saturday/Monday mornings respectively.
In view of that, I imagine it will not be long before someone posts the 4 link-words (and their pairings) from the Herculis crossword and I can commence the points allocation and update the monthly table. Over to you.

I was right that the glut of points would likely come to an end this week. That was inevitable with so many possiblities for Kate's Saturday links.
PONY TAIL was first to fall to the second entrant Aquagility for 2 points
Twenty minutes later, beejay1124 knocked off FISH HOOK for 2 points
Then, the next player, patchett matched LACE NECK followed immediately by MrsE with the same choice both for 2 points. (Applying the 2-minute rule)
The final link of BASS CLEF had to wait until almost an hour and a half after the game had started before being matched by ulysses100 also for 2 points of course
With all the bonus points spoken for, the only other scorers of 2 points were the four double-hitters paulineward, roslyn251254, Mr Ont-ice & chriss(stevie)
Congratulations to those above who all managed 2 points in a much tougher week.
12 further players picked up a single point

Finally I will raise an issue that has already been mentioned elsewhere but which you may not all have seen.
The Saturday GK and Monday Herculis crosswords are now available online from midnight on their respective days. They can be accessed by members of the Daily Telegraph Crossword Society (a subscription service).
As a result, there is the possibility to start this game earlier and earlier which I don't think is in the best interests of all the players. Furthermore, I am not prepared to set my alarm clock for earlier than 6:am so for the next two weeks, the game thread will be launched around 6:10 - 6:15 am on the Saturday morning.
Also, because of the early publication of the crosswords online, no entries to the game will be accepted after 11:59 pm on each Sunday.
Feel free to comment on those statements, and of course seekeerz may have other time constraints of her own to consider when she resumes control in December.

It is going to mean more sleep for me, and a few other early birds. But I shall rather miss the excitement of these mornings and, in particular, the frisson of doubt as to whether one is has the right words when going live.

I hope you don't mind but I'm taking the opportunity to comment on another issue of the Telegraph going interactive. Living abroad I rely on the Crossword Society rather than the paper edition. Going interactive should have helped but it hasn't as the prize puzzles are no longer the weekend puzzles and have been cut down to a single cryptic, plus a GK and a Quick. Before it was always 2 cryptics plus EV. The position regarding EV is still unclear as it is going interactive but hasn't as yet. To add to this the cryptic they offer - not a weekend crossword - comes out on a Monday. It has always been my weekend pleasure to do the Saturday and Sunday Crosswords jointly with a friend, whoever getting the most questions right to have their name appended to the puzzle. Silly perhaps, but my weekends are no longer the same. I have e mailed the Telegraph (frustrating exercise) and gather they are prepared to make adjustments if the feedback warrants it. If anyone feels they can add their voice to mine please e mail as well. I would also be sad to lose EV as a prize crossword, though delighted if it could be submitted interactively.
Oh well, no points yet again!!! Well done all those that scored this week and thanks to Slaney and Gen2.
Being a night bird, posting the link words and starting the competition just after midnight would suit me, but I agree that posting of the links shouldn't occur until the normal Saturday morning start time, although members of the DT Crossword Society can have an advantage by waiting with their link words already decided.
