Anna :- Yes 15 Across is Sextant as it is an astronomical instrument. The old brown = tan, this part of the clue,too :-) Ext- abbreviation of exit- the way out- part of the clue. Always like to understand how every part of the clue works, too!

No need to be pedantic Catron is there? At least worked it out. Tan is a type of brown colour + Sextant is an astronomical measuring device. Always happy to help others + knew the correct answer. Have great knowledge + just as was slightly out witht he word play fathomed the correct answer anyhow. Oh my gosh, are you a teacher by any chance? Remember when on holiday a teacher correcting me on my speech in front of my friends + did not know her from adam or invited her into the conversation so was more than a little miffed with her as you can imagine!! It is not pedantic at all! - you say you like to understand how every part of the clue works and then promptly give the wrong wordplay to somebody who is questioning how the answer sextant is obtained.

if you do not like someone helping another with the correct wordplay for a question, then check your own wordplay is correct first.

Yes, you got the correct answer but Annna asked why and you failed to give the correct wordplay to answer that. All I have done is give the correct wordplay and you don't like it.

Am a very good neighbour as it happens and everyone in my close adores me + popular in the town in which live. Have carried out many favours for my neighbours + taken to them on several occassions my excellent baking + cooking- am a very good cook as it happens! Just make a stand to bullies or nitpickers wherever they may be that is all. If you treat me fine than am fine in response to you though if you cross me then you will wish you had not as am pretty feisty! Would do anything for anyone in need + have a heart of gold. Just not a doormat or a doormouse!
Like who I am + have plenty of fans so anyone who chooses not to like me then that is fine as do not need them in my life anyhow. Comfortable in my own skin + sleep with a clear conscience. Dynamic , happy, lateral thinking + creative, caring, assertive + a phenomenal woman. Oprah is my heroine.
