A from Almond flavoured liqueur - i put amAretto - third A is my first A for 68d
The only other almond liqueur I can find is Ratafia, but that's only 7 letters. Back to the drawing board !!

Typed where I got the R from when I realised I put THRISTY instead of THIRSTY so eradicate would fit - DOH! Dont need the tippex from you answers - I've made such a mess of this this week - THANKS again for all your help
It's a shame - extirpate is a much better word as it actually means to pull up by the roots. Glad we could all help - you can drink some of that Amaretto now!!
eradicate also means to pull up by the roots
