water quiz help please

I am doing a quiz to do with water things and am stuck on the following:-
sang a song (to) the girls 10letters (inanimate object)
I'm floored! 3 letters (fish)
Alters the pitch 9 letters (bird)
Young woman with wings? 9 letters (creature/plant)
Find fault with 4 letters (fish)

Young woman with wings/plant- think it might be Angelica? Yet your clue says it is 9 letters so not sure. Hope someone answers here for you soon :-)

I thought the young woman with wings was
DAMSELFLY
but I can't see where the plant applies, certainly a creature

Maybe the young woman with wings ( creature/plant) is fairymoss- type of fern?

Fairymoss is a floating fern so think that this could well be the answer ( Fairy- winged creature + Fairymoss is a plant)
Trumpeter ( swan) like that answer Mary T :-)
Enjoy cryptics- keeps my mind active. May not always arrive at right answer immediately yet just the lateral thinking process is good for me ( live with a neurological condition) + enjoy helping others whenever can.
