12 across is one of the ten thematic answers, look up "fine gentleman" in chambers

19 down - remember many words can be abbreviated to a single letter - take this out of one word to get another

So grateful, Midazolam, and I have taken on board the message about partial answers on this site. I had managed the short one I asked about, and come up with the fact that twelve across was thematic, but could not relate fine gentleman to either of the two possible words. I have completed it now and am really happy. Thanks again.
