Baffled by two of the answers to practice puzzle 4.

Where you'll find something burning in range.
A. Kitchen.
Explanation. All in one clue. itch in ken.
Something burning=itch but where does ken come from?

Intense campaign settled audience's worries reflected in petition
A Blitzkrieg.
Explanation. Sandwich including reversal and homophone. litz+irks=irkz.
Petition=beg and b lit zkri eg gives us the answer. I think the z after lit is a typo but how do we get "lit" (or litz) ?

Ken can mean range of sight or knowledge according to Chambers.
1. Range = a stove (with spaces for cooking a number of things at the same time)
settled = lit worries = irks which sounds like irkz, reversed (reflected) inside beg (petition)
There used to be a comedy programme on the radio (with Kenneth Horne) called "beyond our ken",

To light on = to settle on.

I settled the bet doesn't equal I lit the bet.
I settled the bottle on the table doesn't equal I lit the bottle on the table.
I settled in Norwich does not equal I lit in Norwich
