I've managed to get an answer for all these, but am wondering how my answer to No 97 fits the clue. Terminal point for tube diameter, perhaps (4,7). I think it could be West Ruislip, but can't see the connection to diameter. Can anyone explain?
Sorry,JMR27,all the answers must have a silent letter in them (eg knee) and the answers are in alphabetical order, (by sound or spelling) and the answer I'm querying has to start with W and falls between Wa and Wo, so I think the West bit would be right. Hope you understand this !!
Hi smouse, I've got gene for that answer, for want of something better so far. That's what came up when I put 8836 in to Google. Will let you know if I come up with something better. Did you get a reply to your e-mail about who wrote what? Thanks.
Hi again smouse. I'm sitting trying to work out the silent letter in GENE, looking through the quiz to see if this crops up in any of my other answers and I note I have Holborn for an answer to No 25 and I wouldn't say there's a silent letter in that word, but maybe my answer is wrong, and coming from the north of Scotland we pronounce things differently anyway!!
