Good morning everyone - I trust you're all well and that not too many are snowed in after last night's [in places] spectacular efforts, complete so I gather, with sound effects !!
Nothing spectacular going on down my way - well not in the way of weather changes so far, it's still way too hot for comfort or sleeping or any other sane activities, however by Friday it should be better - fingers crossed and all that.
I shall wait here patiently [good excuse to stay put in the cool] until such time as this morning''s matches are posted and then I can go to work..... more than can be said for most of the commuters here today, the trams broke down again, that's about 3 times in less than a week...typical !!! bye for a bit S

The sky look very black and I suspect we are in for more. yes it's coming down heavier as I look out of the window. I'm staying here in the warm.
I can't find anything to positively put Draught and Short together, so I'll go with the combinations we've got and face the firing squad later !!!
Ooooo, lots and lots of possibilities there and yet it was a quiet start, sedate in fact - just four lucky individuals picking up the bonus points, no hairsbreadth decisions....boring !!!
I love the free-for-all starts and we don't seem to have them anymore...what happened ?? I shall have to speak to Kate and see what can be done to rectify the situation.
Well as you can see, my brain has reverted to something resembling normal and the verbal diarrr...whatisname is back !!! I don't think we quite hit 40 today and that believe me, is a blessing !!!
OK Aquagility in his normal guise kicked off proceedings with Short Circuit, next was beejay1124 making every one a Winning Post.
lysander came up trumps with the Draught Board and last but not least was joto with Calf Skin.
The remainder of the scoring was also rather sedate - only Magyar managed 3 points in the 'Good Guess' dept followed by Chiefpanda, evsajo, eccles, wickedtongue & ShazzaHewit each with 2 points and a further 21 entries picked up a point for their efforts.
So congratulations everyone, I shall now retire from the scene for a short while and put the finishing touches to the all-important Leader Board.

Only one for me.
Just started snowing again here on NE coast but very little lying, we haven't had the strong winds forecast, thank goodness.
I am not going to be able to get to the computer until late on Sat. next weekend, would some kind soul post a link for me please later on Sat., or otherwise I risk the early posting not being accessible as it will have gone beyond the 10 page limit we seem to experience.
Many thanks
Di

Wish we could send some snow to Oz- it has, of course caused complete chaos in London, and driving to work today was very slippery.
This is my first time so high up on the leader board, so I am very pleased, and congrats to cliffyg for an outstanding result.
Just about to close up and go home- after posting the xwords of course!
