many thanks! I do this on line and an incorrect answer had been accepted as right which is where the incorrect B and S came from!! Technology!!!!!

Liz, if you do this online - you generally "cannot" put the wrong answer in. AFAIK todays cryptic was behaving itself this morning when I did it....

You can enter anything you want online - it's only when you hit submit that it tells you whether it's right or wrong.

It was certainly ok at 1 o'clock this morning!!

There are glitches, like the one I posted recently where the online version would only accept blank where there should have been an "e", but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I do click on SUBMIT! I entered NABOBISM/T which was not really very good as a guess but it accepted it as it did for the rest of the time I was doing it this afternoon. (2.00pm to about 5.00 as I had visitors!!) Each clue I entered allowed that incorrect one through! hence my confusion! however I should have thought 'somethings wrong!' but somehow accepted the computer as right!
