20. Think of a word meaning inform and reverse it (minus one letter) + italian word for bass - who's first knocked off, that is minus it's first letter.
The word in the clue is "drink" rather than "drinking", and means sea in this context.
Quizmonkey- told you before now- swing onto another branch + take your pathetic comments elsewhere as there is no need for your kind of vitriol. Are you so inadequate a person QM that all you can do is take the mickey out of others to boost your own fraglie ego?! Go and parlay with some Hyenas !
Matakari- ignore this foolish quizmonkey please. Warmest wishes , Bea :-)
Thank you, Beatrice! I do sympathise with Quizmonkey, though, and wish that he could let his humanity show sometimes! I wonder why he selected the name "Quizmonkey"! To gloat over other's weaknesses? I hope not! I will follow your advice and just ignore his rantings and ravings! Incidentally, have you had a look at this puzzle? I am seeking hints for my own edification!
I fully understand the paradox in saying "no one should work these puzzles until they're able to work them," but I also understand the reaction when someone asks for the answers to more than half the clues in a puzzle. Some hints:
29: clue actually reads "Angoulme's"; odd (or even) can mean take every other letter.
