Thanks for your response, I know Geest exported bananas but think he was exporting something else first, trouble is I can't find out what.

Dsg, I have yes thanks but unfortunately it doesn't give much information. I appreciate the help though.

From what I have been told the Geest brothers began growing bulbs in Spalding, Lincolnshire and developed from this into a fresh produce business and only got involved importing bananas in 1953.
