MM Links March 2009 [Week 2]
Good Morning, this is Mr E back again.
Here is my latest Blog entry:
It is time once again to plan the game for the weekend, but where do I find the time? We had our youngest grandson to entertain on Tuesday and since it was warm and sunny, we took him up to the local park. There is always lots to do and see there so it is a very popular place to take young children to during the day. There is a large play area for toddlers where we met up with a neighbour and their child Rodney. He was happy as Larry pedalling around on a yellow tricycle.
Health and Safety have a lot to answer for since there are no longer any swings or roundabouts. The only traditional piece of play furniture is a chute and such was its popularity, that the children had to queue to use it. Beside this enclosure, there is water, not a little puddle, but a bally great expanse of it with a wooded island in the centre. It is all unfenced so H and S obviously have double standards. In summer it is used for boating where you can hire paddle boats shaped like giant swans but the real ones took a while to get used to them and often tried to chase them away.
You can't take children to this park without also taking along some stale bread. The birds must see this several times a day but they always treat it as if it is going to be their last meal and there is always lots of noise, squabbling and tail pecking.
At this point we realised that the wee one had more than just wee'd his nappy but it took a joint effort to drag him away from the ducks and back home for a change.
Have a good game - see you in 15 mins.
