We are coming up to Week 3 in the reign of Baron Brian and things could hardly have gone better. The launchings have been so smooth and the scoring has been brisk, to say the least. If my memory serves me well, I may have intimated that this would be a five-week month ~ and of course that is not so! There are only FOUR weekends in April and Baron Brian's days are numbered.

Grandson, Harry, continues to thrive and this week he travelled up to the NE to meet his Great Grandmother et al . I know that I will have to take time off to visit Mum on mid-week trips in the near future. Her health is poor and deteriorating. My origins are really based firmly in the NE in a small village (given by Q22 in the Dragonfly IV Quiz). I do hope that this latest quiz is living up to the same high standards as the first three ~ and providing the correct balance between enjoyment and exasperation!

I look forward to seeing you all ready and waiting for the new challenge when the launch opens at 08.45 tomorrow, before the MM link words are disclosed at 09.00 (sharp). There has always been a rush of early entrants in the opening five minutes of play ~ and many bonus points are picked off during this vital period!

You need also to look out for the sister game (called KM Links) that kicks off in the early hours of Saturday depending on whoever is first to solve the Herculis Crossword in The Daily Telegraph! It has been decided recently to adjust the scoring system here, so that it is NOT time sensitive. This version of the Links game attracts many entries and scores can be much higher. That truly international version of the Links Game is watched over by the Hostess with the Mostest in the form of seekeerz (from the Land of Oz). She takes responsibility for keeping law and order, and seeing that fair play prevails. She will process each prediction and maintain the League Table for the KM Links.

Me? Im crofter keeper of the scores for MM Links for my sins and I process the predictions and maintain the League Tables for the parallel game.

Good luck for tomorrow, when you will have to tune into another round to take up the challenge of this latest setter, Baron Brian.

:o)
Evening all...a busy week here in the Ward Household.
What have you lot been up to?

Glad your Grandson is doing well Crofter.
Good feedback on Dragonfly 4 so far!

Now come on you lot...Crofter started it...he says this one is his last one!!!
been busy here Pauline, in between work, gardening and trying to finish a book afraid the quiz got left, will make a start this weekend
am sure you will use all your charms to persuade Crofter to do another one for you
jan
Hi Jan...done a few bits in our garden too.
But a bit busy with visitors over Easter, and my brother and sister are both Teachers and they have been off this week..so it has been catch up time.

Plus I have had a little sorting out to do!! You know me ... a professional complainer! :-))
quiet at the moment, perhaps we should enjoy it before the men come and pinch all the drinks!
Hi, sorry I am a bit late, been visiting my Sister and then my son phoned, and then dogs needed feeding (and so did I !!!)
Pauline , is that the voice of reason I hear????? LOL
(Pauline phoned me yesterday and said to me to take notice of her as she was the voice of reason!!!!) I await the comments!!!!!!!!!!
Kay!!! How could you!!! :-))

Jan...the men need a few first to cope with us!
Kay...am going to learn how to bake gluten free bread and cakes...and then I will poison you! :-))
Quite right you diabolical bunch, I'm reaching for the Dutch courage as I write.

Despite the banning, last week, of that brewer's advert the truth is "yes, your b*m does look big in that"

Amazing how brave you can get after a couple of snifters!
Hey Strix!!! You are brave!!! :-))

How's the leg?
Pauline, brave now, but headache tomorrow!!

Kind of you to ask about that leg. Saw the sawbones mid-week who informed me it is showing signs of knitting together (they're so encouraging!) have to go back again end of May. But still not allowed to walk on the offending leg.
It does seem to lasting a long time Strix! Poor you...or are you bribing the Doctor so that Mrs Strix can wait on you! ;-))

Just popping in and out of kitchen...as clan are due in soon and have rung ahead with orders for supper! Deep Fat Fryer on for chips...anyone want some?
Just had some thanks Pauline, together with a lovely piece of cod.

Pauline, also many thanks for the Ecard, it was much appreciated.
Must say I'm getting used to being fussed over but I can see Mrs S patience wearing very thin!

Now, Pauline, the food order - I'll pass on the chips but can I have a deep-fried Mars bar and a pint of Buckie.
A pint of Buckie???? That's a new one on me! As for a deep fried Mars Bar...yuk!! That's further North than me! Ask gen2!

I have Haddock in the oven Twix...Hope you had a good day on Wednesday...and spoiled Mrs Twix!! 40 years married...the woman is a Saint!! :-)))
Hi Pauline,

We had a good day but the evening was a bit of a fiasco. I had booked a table at a restaurant, but when we arrived the place was in darkness - they had a power cut and didn't bother to ring their customers:-(( We went home instead, via a takeaway, Mrs. T to watch The Apprentice and me to watch the football!
Evening all.
Shame about the wedding anniversary dinner twix - not too bad though - the football was good wasn't it.
Evening x-ray,

The football was good this week, but this was the previous Wednesday, when Liverpool lost to Chelsea!! (Although almost a Londoner, my heart lies in Merseyside in respect of the Premiership teams).
What a shame twix! I hope they offered you another night...free!!

Puts me in mind of our Wedding Night...well sort of! Reg got us on wrong train...and instead of being in Llandudno at 9pm...we ended up in Liverpool Lime Street! .. sat in a dingy back street pub whilst everyone was at our Wedding Party having a great time! We then had to try and get back to Wales somehow....after chatting to an old bloke in the vault for 2 hours!!!...and buying him a few Brown Ales!
Although I am a Man U fan and Liverpool are rivals...this week did move me for them. I think anyone who is a football fan must feel for them and remember.
