23 I gave the clue to look up complete extent in the reverse dictionary then add er

21 again look up prepare for impact in reverse dictionary and the same word means a pair

29 as above - not sure how anyone does new shoots without reverse dicitonary

I've got 36 of the 45 clues so far on my own smouse, so I think I'm well on the way to understanding how the compiler thinks.Then you get to the point where no amount of brainstorming will get you there, and you need a little help from regular quiz winners like yourself. After all, we all seem to be stuck on the same ones now, which might suggest slightly more devious clues.Never heard of the reverse dictionary until you told me, which probably explains why I don't understand your clues.Sorry amadeusamat, answers I've given are now probably incorrect, but they seemed OK to me at the time!

No 32-I got the letter, but thats only half the clue-its the" victim for paint grease" part that I'm stuck on!

I,ve got no. 32 thanks to your help smouse, sometimes, and only sometimes I,m not so thick after all! Its just that that particular type of quiz stretches the brain cells a bit to far sometimes-very clever, but very devious, especially when its not clear how many words are required in the answer.

The first time I did new shoots I looked at it and did about 3 and thought WHAT!!
I just gradually progressed from there I guess but some still make me groan and there are about 4 on this that I am not sure of but am about to send it off
Its the is it a one word answer or do I need something with it that gets me

I thought it might have been 2 words but trying to find a ?cube that was a tool was impossible.I agree stock was a bit of a doubtful answer for tool, but I,ve sided with you smouse. I was thinking about it all the way round the supermarket! Thanks for replies once again.
