Thank you Rodz - yes this is a tricky one - I thought of Leylandii because they grow and grow, but I've also found an American tree called the wayfaring tree, so that might be a possibility, but I'm still pondering.

Yes I'll let you know, but this is a local hospital charity quiz and the results won't be out until July, so it will be a long time to wait!
By the way, I'm wondering if the 'doggie' one might be paw paw - another American tree.
