Thanks!!
I am afraid there is more than one possible answer to this one - dab also fits.
Hey Catron, I thought that dab was a kind of chick.
Thats one definition ha ha - another is:

vt (dabbing; dabbed) to touch or press gently with something soft or moist; to peck; to smear; to dress (the face of stone) using a steel point.
n a gentle touch or wipe with something soft or moist; a small amount of anything soft or moist; (usu in pl) a fingerprint (); a species (Limanda limanda) of fish of the Pleuronectidae; applied to other (esp small) flatfish. (Chambers).

So, shawnee? I was only giving another possible answer. The Oxford Dictionary of English gives one definition of dab as 'a small amount of something: she licked a dab of chocolate from her finger'

You can dismiss dab if you wish but the questioner should know that there is more than one alternative and can then decide which they prefer.
