Well lie-in, I'm not really well. I contracted conjunctivitis? halfway through the week and I can hardly walk because every muscle in my legs is screaming! On the last day we walked up and down a STEEP slope from our clifftop hotel to the little fishing village below and from then on I've been in agony. Apart from that Sorrento is a beautiful place and we had clear blue skies every day and sun from dawn till dusk. Too hot for me really, it was around 80 degrees every day except coming home day when it did cloud over. How are you?

I'm sorry that you're not 100% & hope you start feeling better soon.

I'm ok-ish - a friend passed away (she was only 40, for God's sake!) & we've the funeral on Tuesday, so I'm not looking forward to that.

On the other side of the coin, Anne's chemo appears to be working on her lymph cancer, at least - fingers crossed!

I'm shocked!! This is the first I've heard of Anne. Is she your wife? I am very sorry to hear she has cancer. Is the 40 year old friend your neighbours wife who you said had died before I went away? So sorry you're having a sad time.

No, Anne's the lady I posted about a while back - lots of people here were kind enough to ask after her.

Yes, it was my neighbour's partner who died.

I was divorced a looooong time ago...

What did your neighbour's partner die of? I remember you said it was a shock so she couldn't have been ill. 40 is so young. I'll be thinking of you all on Tuesday and hope things go as well as poss.

Sire. I did not see the ice-cream emporium, sorry. I only had ice-cream once and I didn't like it - too sweet., prefer Walls! As I said earlier, it was a pretty place but very expensive, paid 8 quid for a coffee and a beer in one place! Doesn't everywhere look pretty at night when the lights are on?

She'd been ill for a while with rheumatoid arthritis that damaged her pericardium, hence a peaceful death in her sleep.
