the question was posted here as 'Chinese mountain', yet you say Japanese mountain is the clue.
I believe there's a Mount Fuji in Japan, maybe there's one in China too?

Yes Claud the Daily record question is 96a Japanese mountain (4) not Chinese as asked by anderson1293. I thought there was another paper running the same crossword.

Japan and China, they're both faraway countries of which I know little.
