Does buying 2 lines on a lottery ticket instead of 1 double your chances of winning, or just increase it infintesmally?  Assuming of course that they are not exactly the same numbers. 

 

I can think of arguements for both, what is the mathemetical answer?

Isn't it both? assuming there's a 1 in 14 million chance of winning then have a second go means you have a 2 in 14 million chance. Which is both double as well as infinitessimal
