I am unable to prove that a myotome is indeed a surgical instrument for dissecting muscles

Definition ofr "myotome" from Chambers Dictionary.

myotome n muscles which are controlled by the nerves from one segment of the spinal cord; a surgical instrument for dissecting muscle.
Derivation:
myo- from Greek mus = muscle
-tome from Greek tomos = a cutting
