Surely there are two competitions? The crossword - as usual - & the "Prizeword" as an extra entry for those that wish to text or phone...

Or am I isolated in my thinking?..
You can still enter the crossword comp. thos. The word comp.is something new this week.
i presume you're referring to the 'pub quiz',this has ,i've noticed'been just the 1 for a few weeks now
The way I read it you can either continue to send in the xword by post or phone or text.
I would certainly agree that the latter will stand more a chance of winning.

Lie -in -king.I read it as one prize only.Do you think there are 2 one for text message and one for grid?
Hi thos - yes, I see it as being able to send the full grid as normal, and / or entering the "Prizeword" by text or phone...

...You don't need the full grid for "Prizeword", nor do you need "Prizeword" for the grid entry
I initially thought it was two comps. with two prizes, but I now see where you`re coming from thos.
I also read it as being only one prize and wondered how the winner would be selected when the competition could be entered in two different ways? Do you think the postal entry alternative will be dropped in the not too distant future?
"Send your solution to..." - for the crossword only - no need to fill in the word...

"Text ... or call ..." for the "Prizeword" only - no need to complete the grid...

Two separate competitions
I have to question my sanity but I cannot agree with Lie-in King on this one! The entry details state "One winner will be chosen at random from all the phone, text and postal entires." and I still read that as meaning only one prize will be awarded.
Typo - should read 'entries'. Sorry.
The postal entry for the "Prizeword" would only be counted if you filled it in...

I agree-so money making-they want people ringing in with answer
It looks like we'll just have to wait to see how many winners are named.
i take the chance of being thought a bit thick on this - but - where do you get the letters from to fill in the Prizeword ?
Hey, having never won the thing after probably 9/10 years of trying, with only one/two weeks per year when I haven't submitted an entry, I think the whole thing is probably a scam anyway....how many people do you know that have ACTUALLY won the prize?

Guess I'll just continue taking the challenge of completing the crossword every week and posting my entry by 2nd class mail until I die......
McTavish not a silly question you would only really need to solve 8 out of 44 to get the prizeword assuming you didn`t need help from the others if you understand me, as they are all starting letters
BSOBY - Yes I have a friend who won it sometime last year so it is genuine.
Mamy - still thick which 44 questions ?
perhaps if you do the crossword and fil in theprizeword and send by post you get entry to two competitions or am I being naive thinking they would let us do that.
