MM and KM Links August 2009 [Week 2]
48 Answers
Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!
Welcome to this second week in the reign of Pope Adrian, who was most penitent for the paucity of points bestowed last week to the faithful. Offline he has pledged due care and attention to distributing more of his bounty near and far during this second week of August! Thus far, I am delighted with our new setter, who is not only sharp on the IT front but also does not overwork my (t)rusty abacus.
In any event, this contest will be fought over five weeks and the first week is quite often low scoring. I expect those from the Shrubbery Squad to do much better than last week, when the MM Posting should open tomorrow at 8.45am and the four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am.
We should not forget the international version of this same game, which is called KM Links and kicks off at an earlier hour, but in this version time is NOT a relevant factor. This game has for several years now been organised all the way from Oz by our very own seekeerz aka Steff ~ the Hostess with the Mostest! You are invited to chance your arm at both Link Games?" They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards.
Tonight it's Quiz Night at the local Cricket Club, where I expect many members will still be at nearby Headingley ~ praying for a historic Test Victory over the dreaded Aussies (present company accepted)!
Whatever your pleasure, until we meet up tomorrow, may I wish you "Happy Linking"!

Quiet on here tonight?
Anyone care for a glass of red...just opened....
Well...I have had a right week.
Some of you already know...but our weak little rescue cat that was really poorly...and recovered...got knocked down last Sunday. Like a flaming Monty Python sketch!
She was not expected to survive...again....all lower organs were pushed up into abdomen. But she has had op...and is still alive!...Thanks to Sainsbury's Insurance Policy...and an excellent vet!

Thanks Strix...was that a compliment? Wow!!!
Jan...I'll say...this time last week we thought all our troubles were over with her. They had just reduced her medication...and then this! Mind you...I did not expect her to live this time...I really didn't. As the vet said...she's not even one year old yet!
Right...who's on the vino...and what plans hve you all for the weekend? I predict it is going to be warm and sunny....possibly because I saw the weather forecast!:-))
We are having a family BBQ in a couple of weeks...it had better buck up!

But then, Pauline, I am many miles away and not locked away, as Reg is, in a garret with a remote control with no batteries for a B&W television set and only the occasional crust for dinner.
Bet Reg wishes he, too, was insured with Sainsburys! If he was, he would probably chance it by leaping out of his garret window and could live in luxury down the local Public House for some months as he "recovered".

Evening all, Just popped in for a moment, having just returned from short break in Scotland (brilliant weather).
Sorry to hear about your cat, Pauline. Thank GOODNESS for insurance policies! I never bothered before, but when my two kittens showed early signs of being accident-prone i thought it might be a good idea. (And in case anyone is wondering, I absolutely don't work for an insurance company!)
Well, after an amazing month in July I reverted to the norm and failed to trouble the scorers in either KM or MM last week. So it will be fingers onforehead and chanting a mantra tomorrow, I think!.

I just don't know what to do about the words anymore. Have tried putting first thing that comes into my head.......nil points, then tried really thinking about it........nil points. Tomorrow it will be a late visit so no chance, but the car boots will be good tomorrow because its going to be sunny !!!!!!!
