18d Starry
sorry Ringo STARR plu Y as the ref to axis
It is Starry because Ringo Starr is a beatle and you have an x and a y axis. Celestial is starry.
Sh for quiet, ruffle feathers is irk and to shirk your duty is to duck out
19d Perhaps
Sh=quietly
irk= ruffles feathers of
Shirk=duck, as in avoid
4d. James ?? - sounds like (reportedly) Jim (Gym) - is James a biblical teacher?
19d. SH = quietly, irk = ruffle the feathers, shirk = duck
4d James. A "reported" Gym ie. sounds like Jim. James was an apostle and therefore an RI teacher
