I think you're probably correct and they have missed a 'to' out of the clue. Or the clue doesn't know his correct surname!

This is a tricky one thought I had it with Bill Owen and Compo Simmonite (No T) , Lewis Collins is another one e.g Bodie (No D) Has anyone got it yet?
