oily one...could be sully, an island off welsh coast...which is used to sully or smear someone's reputation and means to make something dirty..smear and sully are together in my thesaurus
Still stuck on point gun to lead this...can you help? Hope we are not both aiming to win the same quiz...only a bit of fun really, though.

Latest thought is that oily one might be apiol, which is an oily extract from the parsley plant and I found an island of that name on crossword word lists, british isles. Think I prefer it to sully
Also think canon rock island could be the answer to the point gun to lead this, 5,4 and 6 letters, but still not 100% satisfied. What do you think?
