Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Can anyone out there help me with the first names of:

1) Mr Bumble the Beadle
2) Miss Havisham: jilted on her wedding day.
3) Mr Barkis: he was willin'

I've tried various sites without any joy, but I bet there's a Dickens scholar amongst the ABers.

Caslas and Tallulah - Many thanks for your help. Tallulah I do thin tho' that your reference relates to the fact that Barkis is a 'carrier' by profession and not that it is his first name, but many thanks, anyway

He didn't have a first name! I just copied out the entry in Who's Who in Dickens? Thick Book. Yes he was a Carrier. It must be a trick question. All it said was Barkis, Mr. Carrier. It also gives the quotation about "willin'" Everyone else has their first name given if Dickens gave it in the relevant novel.
