The Internet has become a standard part of almost everyone's life in one way or another. We at The AnswerBank wondered if crosswords have become online as standard, or if the old offline format still has a strong following.

Ah!!!! lol :-)
I voted for offline. Nothing beats having the paper in front of you.
I've voted too but I don't think the stats will show for a while - it says 'refereshed every 15 minutes'.
Very pretty, Ed.

Now what about the 'things still to do list'?
offline for me. Nothing better on a sunday morning than sitting with the papers and a cup of coffee!
I print mine off and fill them in. Don't always buy the paper.

A.Guest - We're still working on it. For example, the text size has changed when you enter a question and you can now expand all the topics. there is also a post an answer button at the bottom of each question! We're getting there.

And how did you answer? (If you don't mind me asking?)

Spare Ed
offline for me to.
Obviously this will depend a lot on whether the actual crosswords are on line, or can be downloaded !
...... most of the ones I do are not on-line ! ;o)
Thanks Ed. Crosswords are not my forte. I go for the consumer competitions where usually a slogan or testimonial is required; ie element of skill required.
I voted for Offline as I prefer to Post my Entry
always offline for me
Offline for me too.

By the way I love the larger print in the answer box, would rather like it across the board but I suppose it would restrict the page.(so I will continue to increase my font when needed)

As I like to submit all the prize crosswords I manage to complete (usually about 10 - 12 a week) I've found that the reduction in collection times by the Post Office a tad inconvenient. For example, if I don't manage to catch the Saturday noon collection on a Public Holiday weekend, the mail doesn't get uplifted until Tuesday night meaning that 2nd class mail might not make the closing time for entries. In addition, 10 entries per week costs £3.60 and due to rise probably! So while I like the feel of off-line entry, there's much to be said for on-line crosswords.

Interesting Mikejas. I had no idea it was so logistically complicated!

Does anyone else suffer with the Post Office's times?

All the best,
