One of my work collegues had goats and we were in a uniformed
job , she put her uniform on the line and the goat ate her blouse
and a lump out of her skirt , then a chunk out of her shoes which she
had left outside the door . The guy in the clothing store never used to
believe a word about why she needed new kit . Sorry not a clue why goats
eat everything !!

Originally from the middle East. They lived in pretty rough hilly country where not a lot of green grows, so in order to live in this rugged habitat they had to adept to eating anything eatable. Clothing is just a plantleaf to them, they don't know it has no nutritional value.
While most things get digested, the add goat dies from eating the plastic cover that a well meaning carer has put over the pen to protect the goat from the weather.
