there's a bird called a stonechat.
Nice one, janbee. I thought of natterjack but couldn't work out Portland-forgot about Portland stone.
Hi quinie, how are you today? Hope all's well in Aberdeenshire.
Rabbit. There are reportedly no rabbits on Portland and you aren't allowed to say the word! (I live in Dorset btw)
Hello janbee, maybe we're both wrong!! Don't live in Aberdeenshire now- just visit. Enjoyed "Cold Granite" though not my usual kind of book!
I'll still go with stonechat. Good to hear from you. I agree, Cold Granite is a bit violent but it's quite gripping. There are several more in the Logan McRae series and they're all good and very funny too.
Would definitely say rabbit (to rabbit is to chat endlessly)

I was only trying to be helpful. I can assure you I live less than 10 miles from the Isle of Portland and everyone locally knows that Portlanders don't say the word rabbit (supposed to be bad luck) and there are none living wild on the island. Google it - I'll leave alone now! The OP doesn't seem to be looking at the answers for all the other clues they've put so I don't know why I bothered anyway! Rabbit obviously also means to talk endlessly
ok Lofty, I'm convinced
LOL janbee. Let's not rabbit on about it ;o)
