multiples of that are 42 63 84...

so the 2 digit number with a difference of 3 between the digits is 63

I do think your son is a bit young at 9 to be doing this stuff..
I'd have a word with the teacher. Looks like a bit of end-of-term laziness to me.

Some kids get so upset when they cannot do their homework, it's not fair to set them stuff that's too hard for them.
