I can't see where each dash starts and finishes, and I'm not sure if the # is a typo.
I am assuming these say:
H?E? and C?N?????

But again Mazie has beaten me to it.

Maybe it's my eyes but I really can't count these dashes. The Q&P guidelines suggest using a ? to represent a missing letter. Or you could use an asterisk (*)

Is it better to use question marks rather than dashes when you post the letters and spaces you already have in a word?
