May I begin by thanking gen2 for covering for me last week-end. Occasionally, I have family business to attend to and this is bound to be the case for a while yet, so it is a godsend for me to be able to rely on someone like gen2. In all this, owllady has played her part over August. From a position of not knowing how to “Cut & Paste”, she has performed brilliantly.

We enter this last week of MM Links with the league table delicately poised. In the lead is tearinghair (8 pts), who is a multiple ex-champion. Therefore, she would normally be automatically excluded from the selection procedure when choosing the next MM Links Setter. The problem that I face is that the next FOUR high scorers are also multiple ex-champions and I have to go to joto (3 pts) before I find an MM Links virgin! The bottom line is that anyone who makes a big splash this week-end could be a serious contender for the September Crown!

However, you have to be “in it” to “win it”. So look out for Lady Ursula’s launch on AB tomorrow at 08.45am and the four words to be linked should be posted at 9.00am, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Remember ~ early MM hits gain bonus points! This week (more than usual) it will be very important to get in early to have a chance of these bonus points

As usual, I ask that you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz ( Roo-land) and is my good friend, “seekeerz”. She is truly the “Wizard-ess of Oz” and currently stands at equal third (4 pts) in the MM Links Game.

As I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” You have nothing to lose. Both games remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards to trace progress through each monthly contest.

Until I see you tomorrow, may I wish you ~ “Happy Linking”!

:o)
Evening all...very quiet tonight aren't we?
Many of us are in the AB Quiz tonight pauline, all agog....!
all tucked up inside, getting cooler these evenings pauline
I only saw that tonight! Hope it goes well.
Hi Jan...
just had a look at the quiz, can answer one or two but not loads
Evening all.
Where did you get a look at this AB quiz Jan ?
I did consider entering but it all looked a bit complicated. I am a subscriber to Trivia Squares and enjoy their quiz contests on there
Is it mostly pictures? I'm hopeless at recognising faces.
Oh sorry - evening everyone!
Hi tearinghair...I'm not sure as I haven't seeen it. I'm bad at recognising people too! I can never remember their names.
Hi Pauline. I'm OK with first names, but forget surnames. This is probably the best way round, but it does make me cross with myself!
Have you ever bumped into somebody and forgotten who they are, yet they know you. You have a chat and they ask after the family etc and you wonder for days who they were....or is it just me? :-)
Definitely NOT just you! The trick is not to let them realise that you couldn't remember who they were....
Just had a thought while I was soaking luxuriously in an aromatherapy bath (gentlemen, look away now!); it probably isn't original as you've all been doing this for much longer than I have, but as we are all connected through doing MM and/or KM links, does that make us the Chain Gang?
Who are you ?

Further to my last post to jan - I have found the quiz and looked at the questions - it is an excellent quiz by the look of it but the contestants seem to be having trouble posting their answers. Squarebear has done a first class job in composing the quiz,
I hope it is a success
Hi tearinghair
Yes...that's the sound of the men working on the chain gang
cue grunting noises? 'ooh' 'ah'. Oh dear, this is going to look very suspicious if people don't know the song...
Good job we know what you're talking about tearinghair!
Where has everybody gone.....are you all doing that quiz ?
Good evening all, here at last after spending quite some time reading the posts then looking at Squarebear's quiz, which looks, and sounds, very good.
I'm not. Hope it's going okay for everyone though.
