just worked out 8a Feme sole! My French got in the way - 'femme' obviously didn't fit

I was going to say the last time I did the Saga magazine crossword, it was a cryptic, not a general knowledge crossword.

JD, these are both cryptic clues - 'feme sole' is an anagram of 'some feel', and 'valerian' is vale + 'i' in 'ran'. The full clue is 'Depression controlled after I swallowed sedative'. It would have helped had I put the full cluie in originally!
