2 questions: Pound the French had to change without dispute (9) ??A?L??GE? Could this be challenge ALSO Admit a Tory has to give up (7) ??N?E?E Could this be concede. The "c" works in with challenge. I am only guessing - if this is right could you please explain

Challenge (dispute) - 'Change' (about) L (pound) + 'le' (Fr "the)
Concede (admit) - Con(servative) + 'cede' (give up)
