Hi boxtops, yes I suggested APES because it was in the clue (consecutive letters) but I wasn't sure it quite meant 'made more of' other than perhaps it means 'copied'

agree factor, I interpreted it as "made another word" - but who knows? ;-)

If it is APES I think the clue should have been .... "makes more of" as in copies (which can mean apes).
But I'm not realy an expert- maybe CUPID is right or we need someone like bibblebub or lie-in king
