MM Links Solutions January 2011 [Week 2]

Queen Christiana the Cheerful continued into 2011 with one of my favourite parodies, which was performed by Julie Andrews. The original version extends to a few more verses and is well worth tracing via Google. Adopting the thematic title “My Favourite Things”, Queen Christiana went for the link words:
Garden CENTRE
TIME Travel
CHINESE Puzzle
Cat MINT
In truth, the game provided fewer points than last week, but still produced a viable game.

Entrant #8 was grannydi with CAT MINT, closely followed by centino with GARDEN CENTRE ~ each scoring TWO POINTS. However, they were immediately followed by the star of the round when lysander solved the CHINESE PUZZLE together with CAT MINT to pick up a well-deserved prize of FOUR POINTS and so qualifies for the coveted title of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK.
*** Let trumpets sound and canons roar ***
*** The peasants cheer and shout “Encore” ***
There was just enough time left on the clock for jan1956 and rockfordill to pick up Two Points each (including bonuses). The very last link word went to Entrant #19, slaney, who is well used to TIME TRAVEL when she visits a remote part of Ireland as an annual pilgrimage. The game closed quietly at first with ladyalex and wickedtongue picking up a Point each before the final flurry of hits going to twix123, ChrisHewat and gen2.

The League Table after this second week is:
SIX POINTS: lysander
FOUR POINTS: ladyalex
THREE POINTS: Mrs Ont-ice
TWO POINTS: centrino, gen2, grannydi, jan1956, Jools, patchett, rockfordill, slaney, Strix, tearinghair, twix123 & ulysses100
ONE POINT: beejay1124, BigMac, ChrisHewat, SHAZZA, cliffyg, Eiggam, Elspeth, Handbaglady, kawakiri, kettledrum, teacher1 & wickedtongue
With two weeks over, the League Table is starting to shape up very nicely with still much to play for. I am still on the lookout for a new talent amidst the plethora of ex-champions. Will next week bring that new talent to the fore?
For the present, this is crofter signing off.
Until we meet up again: HAPPY LINKING!

Oh dear, Tearinghair, no, honestly, I wasn't extra cheerful at all the incorrect guesses, but must admit your remark made me laugh. Actually my ambition is to spread around more of the happy laughter, so must try harder next week.
Congratulations to the scorers, especially hotshot lysander, and a special mention for slaney who correctly deduced how much I would like to indulge in a little time travel and see all that history at first hand. Not to mention things still to come, though I fear I might lose some of my cheerfulness if I caught too much of a glimpse of the future.
