and on the second one, in the words "doubt" and "let" you can make the word DOUBLE and a ten letter instrument would be DOUBLE BASS but that doesn't work either ?

Hi quinie, I wrote down the letters and yes, you can make tambourine but the "d" would be left over. I do think that tambourine is the answer, far better than my answer of double bass, but the clues weren't good were they. We may be a good team, but it helps if the clues are correct to start with. I reckon we should get a team together and go on "The Chase".

Yes, it really is a weird clue,But I suppose that's the whole idea- to make us reason it out?? Wouldn't do if they were too simple.
