Please could someone explain why the answer to 12a 'it contains advice to the benefit of batsman that is about to prepare for playing' is 'fortune cookie'? I can see that a fortune cookie contains advice but I don't understand where the batsman comes into it.
Many thanks
No Telegraph female readers are amazing stalwarts of English County Cricket. Many of them even have hairier chins and moustaches than their husbands....who are either dead from drink or who are conveniently deaf.
Some of us females, with or without husbands, enjoy cricket. Went to an all girls school, played cricket. Lived in the Midlands. Often went to Edgbaston to watch. Learned how to score (match, not cricketers).Buy the Telegraph not for its politics but for its sports coverage and crosswords. No problem with Fortune Cookie.
